Women's Heart

Meet Hester den Ruijter, Professor of Cardiovascular disease in women. Her aim is to translate knowledge from experimental research to the patient. In women, the diagnosis of heart disease is a problem. Most available diagnostics for heart disease have been tested in men and directly translated to women.

Cardiovascular diseases are one of the main causes of death for women. On a daily basis no less than 57 women die! That is more than 2 women per hour. If we don't do anything about that, that number will increase. It has to stop!
